Seriously though, Marseillan, an hour before sundown, sitting on the terrace near the quai, with a glass of Noilly Prat and a plate of the local mussels, gazing out to sea and the boats starting their long journey up the canal du midi.
Obviously most of us have, that’s why it hasn’t received a vote from anyone.
Actually the A55 through North Wales is one of my favourite roads.
I hate that road. I use it regular when I go to my Old Dear’s gaff. Just full of people that don’t know how to drive and dawdle along at 50mph preventing you from making progress in a decent time frame.
Love lots of places I’ve been from the Alps to Italy to Sweden and Norway but the one place that gets me every time without fail is the A5 through Snowdonia. We have some of the most beautiful and stunning scenery in Europe, no make that the world in this country if you’ll just look for it.

Simply exquisite
It was my dads favourite too, he used to introduce me to customers in his pub.
“This is Malcolm, my youngest son, he is a Noilly Prat”
The nicest place for me has gotta be Cornwall, especially in the summer. Used to spend an entire week down there running out of St Austell or Plymouth, doing local work, then making my way back on the Friday. The quiet roads, beautiful scenery with laid back friendly locals won me over, certainly a change from industrial Essex.
Now the work has picked up again I’m lucky if I get one trip a month down there.
some nice places in this country best bit off wales is the road coming out aint it? not sure about my favourite places penzance is quite nice. Also the a66 has sum nice spots along with woodhead pass.
Bodensee, Germany looking out towards Switzerland and the town of Kreuzlingen.
Was weekended here. Not a picture i took but, this was the view i had all weekend and very nice it was too.
The Makarska Riviera, the stretch of Croatian coastline between Split and Dubrovnik is beautiful. Fantastic scenery, lovely beaches and small fishing towns and villages. Lovely in spring time and absolutely scorching in the summer.
Paris in the winter, the week before Xmas was always a good run to get. Used to love starting the day in one of those smokey old Parisian bars with a coffee and a croissant, no Cognac though!! That smell of gittanes / gauloise cigarette’s mixed with fresh coffee, fantastic.
Favourite view was south of Tarifa Southern Spain, looking down at the Strait of Gibraltar and Morocco.
I also enjoy the wee drive from Girvan to Ballantrae on the A77, except when the Irish boys are chasing the boat.
no1 yorkshire dales on the bike, especially up from ripon, masham and make way up to hawes…a very close second would be a trip up to the isle of bute for an august bank holiday weekend… awesome

Been there recently as well
Croatia is also one of my favourites, especially that bendy road from Zadar through Split to Dubrownik:
Turkey is also nice:
And so is Poland, if the Welsh guys are making PR to their country, let me do some PR of my own town:
I am there every 6 months or so and I am amazed how rapid changes this town is going through…
Last weekend I was also in the Polish mountains, sitting on the top of that rock:
enjoying a beer and watching a Karkonosze panorama:
This is one of my favourite places (although hard to get by lorry )
One of the best views I’ve ever had through a windscreen is dropping down the hill into Burford, a proper old fashioned English country town, The Highlands are also spectacular, I’ve run the A5 to Holyhead, once, that’s enough in an artic, it may well have been pretty, but it was foggy, so I’ll never know
In Europe, I used to load from a place in Italy, Bassano del Grappa, a beautiful town, I’ve promised myself I’ll return one day.
Over here there’s a few, approaching Vegas in the night is awesome, running around the coast of Lake Superior is special too, but the best for me has to be New York City
I’m keen to compare Coffeeholic’s Swedish Airstewardess place though, I can see it being a tough choice between NYC and that
