I tipped Sheffield the other day (steel!! like selling sand to the Arabs!) and this was my reload, 1 rally car for the Paris-Dakar rally.
Loaded in a village called Shelly, which is on the A629 Sheffield-Huddersfield road. Thats where they made it. Its based on a Land Rover Discovery .
With a BMW engine (i think)
These were on top gear last year i think they are supposed to be one of the best off road racers in the world

Steel to Sheffield, sad aint it, nice pic of a weird looking motor though!
Nice Pic
One of them loads were everybody has to use a bit of brain to get it loaded. much more interesting than going onto a bay and having 26 pallets loaded by forklift.
I can see them skids are going to launch themselves as the vehicle is driven up them
Obviously they didnt as the load must be on the truck by now
i saw a Portugese driver in France loading a brand new Clio into the back of a tilt, He borrowed some planks and just drove the car up these improvised ramps, at an alarming rate… rather braver than me
Yes Palts, you are correct, it was a BMW engine.
Mal, It is very sad, but true about the steel, there is quite a bit of it coming into the country nowadays
Wheel Nut, the skids were tied down to the bumper by span-sets, the bloke gave it some welly getting in the trailer, must admit, i was peering through the gap in my hands which were over my eyes
Lets hope they have better luck this year.

Friend’s brother will be co-driving one of these Bowler Wildcats in next year’s Dakar Rally.
He is a bit miffed that having previously built successful Rally cars (Dakar and WRC) and worked to very close engineering tolerances and practices, the Bowler has been a bit of a culture shock.
Rod Jones:
Bowler Wildcats
â– â– â– â– it thats what they are called
