This incident illustrates my point,.and supersedes any other example by it’s seriousness.
A guy clever enough to obtain a pilot’s licence to fly airliners…not buses or trucks.
Crashes a passenger filled plane, and 150 people, not for political or terrorist reasons, but due to a mental illness.
I still maintain that in terms of licences, guys unfortunate enough to suffer mental illness and, especially those displaying suicidal tendencies, should be treated in the same manner as guys having heart problems and the like…ie licences suspended or revoked.
Just my opinion based on what has just been said, not some sort of prejudice towards mental issues or illnesses.
Is it just me?
Genius…
All you then do is force people with depression to keep quiet…
How many thousands of suicides each year? How many take one or more stranger with them?

Don’t know mate tbh, so you tell me the stats if you know, seeing as I have given you at least 4 examples of my pov.
Just do a innocent victim count on the 4 examples (of many many more in the world) that I have given you.
Just because you may find facts and examples uncomfortable, or contrary to your views, does not make them either invalid nor wrong.
Not saying I’m entirely right either, but at least I’m attempting to back up the (uncomfortable) examples of my own personal opinion, and trying to explain my actions of the previous point I brought up.
Nice to see we’re having a proper debate at last…despite the ‘genius’ tag.
I dont find the facts uncomfortable…more of an anomaly[emoji1787]

Ok fair enough, but still worth considering when guys driving trucks and buses are concerned in my view.
I did a quick search and found this.
Study is from 2016, done every 4 years apparently.
I was surprised by how high the rate is. It’s a very general figure though. It includes anxiety, panic attacks, depression, suicidal thoughts, etc etc.
Have to wonder how many people with mental health issues are in jobs where they are responsible, either directly or indirectly for other peoples lives.
Drivers, pilots and many more…
I have no conclusion or opinion, was just surprised by the high rate.
How common are mental health problems?
Approximately 1 in 4 people in the UK will experience a mental health problem each year
Nice to see a heated debate remain civil on the whole. [emoji115]

Yep, I thought my opinion on this subject would have drawn even more argument from others, I can only think that it is a a view shared by most drivers.
