I got this pic from a mate, it was taken at the V8 Supercars event in Bathurst over in Oz, you’ll notice the extra few inches in the size of the sleeper, that would save messing about moving the seats to avoid waking up looking like Joe Bugner each morning
Not really a fan of light bars myself, but if you’re going to have one, well it might as well be a big one
i like that, looks the part.
its what we could do with over here, abit bigger than what we hv now, with out going too the lenghts of the longline. don’t get me wrong, i’d like something with longline living space, but doesn’t seem to practical in the uk, that volvo’s size, could be the ideal middle ground.
actually had a lend of one these last week for a few hours just for transport, lovely truck to drive and plenty of space inside, but i would be giving up my argosy for one, as i have shedloads more room in that
its an air vent, you see them on the kenworths as well just pushes out from the inside, probably reversible as well
newmercman, that bar on the volvo is just as effective as the one of my argosy, itll sort them out when theyre on the ground, you just dont want to catch them mid jump = bye bye radiator
kangaroos in the outback !!! I took a road trip last time I was over and could not believe the size of the roadkill I saw .

You certainly need " roo bars " on trucks in Oz as a neccesity , I would not like to hit one in a car , especially at night , them things will kill you
glenman:
ahh, so you did end up finding a wee metal flap on the xxl ,i can remember asking you about it over on another truck forum .
ah i had a ■■■■■■ feelin that was a loaded question
to be honest last time you asked me i was driving a kenworth aerodyne, which has 2 of those “flaps” on each side of the cab so i was just thinking of them as standard when i looked at the volvo XXL, not thinking that it wasnt on the european volvos.

you dont have to travel far out of the cities at all to get them shade, ive seen them 15 kms out of melbourne, even seen one right at the bottom of the adelaide hills as you come into the metro area, theyre actually everywhere its just you dont see them (usually until its too late)
same with the spiders, you wont find the bad ones unless you go looking for them
which instincively us foreigners do
