So you recon you can pull a fuse in a 04 plate volvo and kill the tacho?
Dream on baby dream on.
Even with a niobium stuck on the gearbox pulser(unfused) the tach would still receive a trace signal from at least 2 other ecu units.Abs and counter shaft pulser. You might not see it on the chart but a computer programme will.
i think the fuse for the taco on an 04 volvo is in the battery box behind the battery’s
Of course its still going on, certainly with firms that “use” to run bent, that old guy who’s been there for years will still be on percentage and how to get that extra, one off drop done?.. Just use the guys card from the office.

i passed a volvo 1 night glanced over and all his speedo and guages were asif the truck was turned offi’m led to believe the last m.a.n range of heavies was the same, if the key was knocked back a quarter of a turn.
or so i was told in the late 90’s
That’s true - I tried it on one of Blake’s and it worked. The problem was that you had no brake lights or indicators either.
Think there used to be a fuse chocolate bar - similar to a double decker if I remember right

They probably are, maybe you did assume he was up to no good. Not everyone is a crook.
are you sure?
or do i just keep bad company?
E series ERF speed limiters use to be on the side light fuse, and if you had something with a stop cable/mechanical shutdown you could turn the key back and keep the engine going, gauges use to stay where they were on an old roadtrain we had.
Whats different on an 04 Volvo to an 04 Scania then ?
I would have thought it would run just fine without a fuse in for the Tacho…
Granted you wouldnt know what speed you were doing, but you only go as fast as the traffic around you anyway these days, due to all the congestion !
I dont think your being niave, just that most digital tachos stopped you doing it, but I thought you could still get analogue up to 2006 ?

i was doin about 57-58 down a bit of a hill on the a1, dont usually look over but for some reason did and just seen all his gauges off
Used to drive a fleet of rigids on furniture deliveries. A few P reg merc’s, they had a fuse for the limiter which they ended up getting the workshop boys to wax seal in place…and a few old volvos that you could turn the key back, knocked out all the electrics apart from sidelights and hazards…limiter was off tho. Fine in daytime and good weather but not so good in the dark unless you were on a well lit d/c, and if it was raining you had no wipers either.
