So I load in le chaterlie en brie france about an hour south of paris, I set off at 09.45 for a 22.00 booking in crick its mid morning so I wiz around paris no problem up through the middle of france on the a1 then onto a26 I stop at aire de st hellierre for fuel and a 45, then of to Calais (seeing a new magnum on the way …yuk ) Calais is rammed as usuall but I finally get on the the 17.15 ferry (local) of the ferry at dover at 18.00 up jubilee way m2 darford crossing no problems onto m25 up the m1 j18 of at 21.10 cracked it I thought, parked up for 20 minutes then pulled up to security at 21.30 jumped out gave the security man my cmr , he looks at my cmr ,looks at his computer , then looks at me and says NO MATE YOUR NOT BOOKED IN …!, So I show him my reference number and booking time I received as text on my phone to wich he says there is no 22.00 booking so your not coming in, also the wharehouse is full so we have no room for you, 2 countries 1 ferry crossing 660km 8 hours driving and im not allowed in. so I am now sat waiting in a t/stop in northants for 21.00 tonight when I have to go back and tip, and to top it all nft have told my office I didn’t turn up last night…unbelievable ! just so they don’t have to pay for the rebooking
This is one of the only times having a tracker is handy. Same thing happened to one of ours at Morrisons Wakefield. Load wasn’t on the list, the gatestapo wouldn’t let him in, nor phone goods in. Had they phoned goods in they would have told the gate the list needed updating. Morrisons told tate and lyle we never turned in, boss sends a red faced Wakefield a copy of the tracker
