They have. When you order the truck you can choose between 2 or 3-pedal Opticruise.
So I’ve just over a month of driving the most powerful lorry on the road until Scania release the R800! Maybe. Rumour has it though that Volvo plan to ■■■■■■ the most powerful title back almost immediately
If that’s the case what sort of BHP do you think Volvo will opt for? 850?

Not saying it won’t happen with a new model launch, but haven’t there been rumours of Scania launching a truck to regain the top power crown ever since Volvo released the 750?
All this hp is bs , my ickle clio 1.4 will still overtake you

There has indeed, when I got my first 750 (the phrase first 750 sounds insane!) in 2012 I expected 6 months to a year before Scania bettered it. Would never have guessed 4 years later they haven’t. Thing is though with a new launch it’ll be ideal time to better Volvo

Is it the best time to release the most powerful truck?
One of the reasons to release the truck with the most powerful engine is to get a lot of publicity in the truck press, the launch of a new Scania will create plenty of the that anyway, I would have thought it would be better to release something like that a couple of years after the new model has been launched to create brand publicity once the initial publicity of the new model has died down.
Volvo launched both the 700 and 750 with a model that had been out for a few years, not with the new model.
I am thinking I might have spent far to much time with marketing types from various car manufactures.

Maybe the case if Volvo hadn’t held the crown for going on five years. When we ordered the new one the Volvo dealer reckoned a more powerful Volvo was in the works because Scania were about to take the most powerful crown
So Scania has opted to go with tradition, and make the next model even less appealing…
Found, the lost ERF Olympic cabs…
Yes, I can’t stand up, or walk across, but who’s wearing this cool jacket…

Only time will tell, but for me it’s only a passing interest as I’m struggling to get my boss to replace the old trucks with something secondhand and basic, Renault Premium probably, I doubt I’ll get an old shape Volvo let alone a new shape one, but I do think even if Scania go for power, they’ll have to go a long way to match the present Volvo on other things like comfort and the technological advances like Dual Clutch and independent front suspension. Got to say the interior of the 750 does look really good. Be interesting to see what Scania come up with or will they just rely on their ever loyal customer base to buy the latest model?
All I ask is that they tie the rear axles to something properly, quite how they have got away with their current design is beyond me
Worst lorry I have ever driven and unfortunately I drive them twice a week, old and new, all the same, rubbish.
I must say it’s extremely exciting stuff, I wonder if Scania still offer the prehistoric drum brakes and spongy brake pedal, will they still build the whole cab around the radiator header tank and will they still fit steering drop arm bushes that wear out within hrs of being renewed?
I suppose by now certain things should now be fitted from the factory as standard like steering wheel knobs, Super badges and the lollipop indictors under the mirrors, the double Dutch stripes above the door and the Living the dream never late in a v8 stickers, it would also be a help if the brackets were already in place so you can mount a monstrous Perspex box with your name on it directly in front of the factory fitted version.
Can hardly wait!

No matter what it looks like, I guarantee that someone, somewhere will think it looks better with colour coded wiper arms and a stainless steel “SUPER” badge.
