Next daft T&D question...What's the best way to use your 45?

Here’s another daft (in a good way) question for Truck & Driver…Much more lighthearted this one:

What’s the best way to spend your 45 minute break? Do you do or know of anyone who does anything unusual?

I’m bracing myself for the answers on this one…sniggers :stuck_out_tongue:

If I am in an MSA or lorry park I have just started walking around the perimeters. Sometimes if I’m feeling really saucy, and it isn’t too big, I will do two or three laps. I am planning to set a Personal Best for each site with a view to beating it the next time. Not the most arduous exercise, but better than sitting on your duff playing Angry Birds IMHO.

If anybody else wants to join in we could have a League Table or even a Truck (&) Driver Olympics!

Yes i usually go for a stroll after i’ve had me regulation cup of tea and granary cheese salad roll.

Use what could have been someone else’s “Mastabatorium” behind closed curtains? No thanks :open_mouth:

If I make it back to base so my 45 can be used by the firm usefully, I’ll take a stroll to into town, or crack out the chair if it’s nice weather and just enjoy sitting outside. I have even been known to, talk to either another of our drivers/the office bods shooting the breeze. I’ll deny that last sentence if asked about it in a court of law. Don’t want to be disavowed from TruckClub…

I don’t cat nap like some as I find I’m less alert when I wake up, I need to get the blood flowing to recuperate really!

45 minutes is never enough time… :grimacing:

Like today, if I take my break in our yard, have a doze and occasionally watch the planes take off out of Kidlington Airport.

When I was driving and taking the 45 I would have a snack and then outside to do my tai chi for 15 minutes. It is a great way to re invigorate your mind and body. I learned it when we were in Hong Kong and it is a great way to de-stress exercise for the whole body I did it hail rain or shine and I tell you I used to get some odd looks from passing cars if I was parked in a lay by. I still do it every day now I am retired.

I just have a break

I’m not allowed to comment on this topic .

However I’m looking at becoming more fluent in Spanish on my longer rest periods. Always fancied myself as a cunning linguist.

No really, The Rosetta Stone lessons will defo pay off and this isn’t a euphemism honest.

Normally when it has been a start at stupid o’clock in the morning, then as many ZZZZs as possible.

I used to go swimming during my 45/60 minute breaks, when I used to be a lot fitter, now I tend to lie down & doze off for most of it.

I catch pokemon… Noooooooo that was a joke :open_mouth:
I read my kindle while stuffing my face as my telly is only for evenings

What ■■ no one admitting to tipping or loading while on a break … well I used too (if it were in my own best interest to do so ) (allegedly)

I was told in an RDC the other day, in the days of analogue tacho, you could park outside your drop/collection the night before, take out your card, and spend a good hour or two loading/unloading next morning, and put your card in when you were ready to go. I mean really, who would do such a thing…

If I had curtains, probably draw them and pull me pud. But being as though I haven’t, usually have a look on here or vacantly stare stare out the window. If I fell asleep, I wouldn’t wake up!!!

Thanks guys…Keep 'em coming! :grimacing:

Cook my lunch eat it and wash up and still have some time to my self

Smoke, eat, read, smoke, cough, smoke, go.

Stay Lucky

if at msa the gambling machines seem to take up most of my break

Ive started watching only fools and horses episodes maybe old but it makes me chuckle lol
