Hi there

Do you currently run a C1 course with tanks?
If so how much would this be? Am I understanding that you don’t need to do an exam for this course now.

Thank you in advance
Andy

Hi Andy,

I’m not sure that I understand your question, but I’ll try to help…

C1 is a driving licence category, for which you can take a driving course and test.

Anybody can drive whatever tanker they like, because that simply goes on the licence category of the vehicle to which the tank is attached, so you don’t need an extra driving licence for a tanker that carries non-dangerous goods.

ADR is a qualification that allows you to carry dangerous goods in whatever licence class of vehicle that you’re licenced for.
If you hold an ADR licence and then do a driving licence upgrade, you don’t need to take any further action as far as an ADR licence is concerned, because you’ll still be qualified to carry dangerous goods with or without the driving licence upgrade.

As part of booking an ADR course, you make a choice to carry dangerous goods in “packages and bulk” AND/OR “in tanks.”

There’s no link between an ADR licence and a driving licence.

Now that you’ve read the above, please feel free to ask another question in here, or you could use the knowledge at the time you make your booking(s.)
