Newcastle upon tyne - 1960's - James White (Bricks?)

Does anybody have any knowledge of a Newcastle upon Tyne area firm called James White?.

We have just aquired an old 1965 ERF 8 wheeler from this firm. He must have been a Newcastle United fan, the lorry was originally painted in the teams white & black colours, with a white cab and the black edged lettering “JAMES WHITE LIMITED” in large bold letters accross the front panel with the word BRICKS in red underneath.
On the doors you can make out “Newcstle upon tyne” “…xhunters site” “Phone Whitley Bay 22■■..”

Any ideas?.

Hello I grew up in Coalville Leicestershire in the 1950S and lived near whitwick brickyards (now long gone).I remember one outfit from Newcastle on tyne that used to load there regularly and the drivers taking digs nearby.I m not sure if it was Whites. All I can remember that they had all eight wheelers possibly leyland Octopuses they were greyish in colour. They seemed to be around for a few years and always seemed to run about 4 lorries a day.At this time bricks were send all over the country from local brickyards even up to scotland. This was in pre motorway days and would be a two day round trip if of course the bricks were heading to newcastle
