Newbie

Just a quick hello as I’m new to the forum.

I’m currently in the process of being made redundant 9 year’s in retail management. Only so much you can take working in retail. Looking forward towards the change as it’s something that I’ve always wanted to do.

So I have decided that I’m gonna go in for my hgv c license and then closely followed by c&e licence.

Been studying my theory for past month so not far off being ready for that.

Hoping to get booked in for my medical at begining of October so I can get my provisional sent off and the ball rolling so to speak.

Seems to be a few training company’s nears to me in south wales.

Heads of the valley training, have been recommended to me and seem like a good outfit when I spoke to them about pices and info etc.

Anyone heard of them ?

Matt

The advice is always the same. Make sure you visit your proposed trainer/s and book assessments to make sure you’re happy with your choice. Avoid brokers. The only alternative to visiting is booking on rock solid recommendation.

All the best, Pete

Thanks guy’s. Found out today that I qualify for a grant off the welsh government due to being made redundant.

So I’ve booked in for my hgv 2, flt counter balance and hiab training.

Hoping my current employer will be willing to let me leave bit earlier than my redundancy of
3rd november now.

Finally past module two today had to do a resit on on hazard perception though as failed the first one.

Got a two month wait now though until I can start my cat c though. Was hoping to have it all
done by xmas.

Heads of valleys and big wheelers are ok. I’ve used them both, though their all out to make money at end of day and take what they say with pinch of salt.

Yeah that’s who im doing my class 2 with is heads of the valley training.
Done a forklift course there 2 weeks ago.
They seem good bunch of people

So today was my first day of five doing hgv class 2. Wasn’t a bad day though, with the odd gear change mess ups tho :frowning:
which was me being to quick in changing and the odd wrong gear being selected . The reversing is pretty straight forward though.

Roll on tomorrow
