Newbie with a few questions

Hi all im new to the forum and also new to the truck driving life! Held my class 1 license for 1month also had a full time driving job for the past month!

Just a few things to ask I understand the 45 mins break after 4.5hrs driving also the 6 hrs rule of a break of at least 15 mins!
Maximum of 9 hrs driving a day extended to 10hrs on 2 of the days

Is there anything else I should be aware of■■?

Never ever eat Yellow Snow !

Seriously, welcome.

Tell the truth to the office & never believe what they tell you.

Take your time, don’t get flustered or Bullied into speeding or running red lights. Keep to speed limits (you could potentially loose your hard earned licence within a few minutes !)

Secure your loads, if they look like they will fall over- ‘They will fall over’ & you will spend more time picking it up !

Be polite to customers & RDC staff, even when they are being Koks to you. (You know where they languish in the wood pile !)

Check your wagon every morning & throughout the day (nothing worse than getting 2 miles down the road & finding out that you’ve got a flat (knackered) tyre ! Or broken rear lights that miraculously happened ‘in the yard’ when it was parked up overnight.

Hi regarding to your post, the best idea is to go to your local Vosa and ask for booklet of driving hours I was given one for free and also inspector answered all my question, take care

If somebody says they have secured your load and it is ok.Never believe them.Check it and resecure again before going on the road.
Kitchen timer is good for recording driving times ir Rtd and Wtd.A Cooking shop sells timers.
