Hello I’m a newbie on here and relatively new to trucking. I passed my C+E today and now looking at my options. Been working for Cooplands in Hull for 18 -20 months, receny been delivering around Lincolnshire. So with no C+E experience what’s the best step from here, do many companies take on new drivers with little driving experience?
Looking forward to hear ya thoughts many thanks Mike.
Find a company that have class 2’s & class 1’s… work for them on the class 2’s for a while to prove your self to be reliable, safe and a good worker, before you know it as long as they know you got a class one licence, its only a matter of time before you get to play…
Ring, Email, door knocking… see what that turns up
Find a firm with artics.Apply as a fork lift driver ir truck washer.
When a vacancy comes up,you beat the queue and get to hear of jobs going from drivers.
Or drive vans.
Thanks for the advice, been ringing up and scouring the net for work. Got a application form for heron i believe they run both.
Agencies are saying not enough experience and one said pay was poor and to stay where I am otherwise he couldn’t sleep at night.
Ill be door knocking next week see if i get thrown off site ha ha.
RT Keedwell in Hull was mentioned by my instructor, anyone worked for them?
Cheers mike.
Got an interview and assessment drive next week. whoop whoop. here’s to hoping I won’t ■■■■ it up
Good luck on the assessment, whos it with?
Heron foods, put my application in on Monday was surprised they got back in touch so soon.
It won’t matter how you drive on your assessment you will get the job they are desperate for drivers because nobody will stay.
