Newbie looking for general subbie advice

Hi guys,

Not been on for ages, cut a long story short had my licence bout 2.5 years done container / fridge and fuel work, I’m currently ltd co.

Now toying with the idea of breaking out on my own with a truck but there is so much to take in, starting with the operators licence, then is it but a truck or lease one and trailer etc let alone trying to get work I know maritime as I’m sure other companies have, have a subbie section which apparently is quite good,

Suppose the main question is it worth me doing it myself ? On a day shift mon - fri ? Or equivalent etc ?

Any suggestions opinions will be welcomed.

2 out of 10 for effort…well seen the weekend is upon us.

I can certainly tell you who to avoid for truck rental, but not on here as the mods get a bit uppity if I name the company.

Ken.

Their offer has got a lot better of late, but it still doesn’t match finding your own work for rates. I suppose it makes up for it with security though.
