Take some battery jump start cables, two warning breakdown triangles, spare bulbs,a tool box with decent tools like mole grips, adjustable spanners and so on,a hammer, duck tape, spare suzy lines, spare electric lines for the trailer.
If you have not worked or taken a holiday,or been off work,if you do not have the last 28 days of tacho records, you will need an activity attestation form, your boss can download one from the internet.
Do not hand write on it,except the signature,a company stamp will impress them but not required.
A small camping gas cooker, and the washing up gear, and all the contact numbers for breakdowns and tyre call outs.
The european health card to get free hospital treatment in europe, sometimes you still have to pay even with the card.

Dacher? Thats interesting, a very busy firm on the up. Surprised there useing a brit for continent as they’ve gone romainian in a big way.
Only this morning did I help a dacher romainian, first reverse, which he couldnt do, then direct to west bromich then just in time beep my horn as he was gonna take out the side of my unit as he pulled away.
We do a drop near Uberhernn…
What crossing are you using?
If it’s Calais - Dover, I don’t know where to get your vignette any more.
After there, the route is - Brussels
E411 to Luxembourg.( No overtaking on 2 lane autoroutes in Belgium, so if you’re going to, pick your spot very carefully.)
down towards Metz
onto the A13 (ignore the no transit sign on the junc’ for A13)
straight on through Perl border onto A8 in Germany
straight on at Saarlouis onto A620 for Saarbrucken
off at junc 4a of A620, Saarlouis-Lisdorf, down the slip to a roundabout, keep right and follow that lane straight on at the roundabout, up the hill, follow the road right and up the hill. Off at the junction, there is only one atm. Down the slip, turn left, on to roundabout, go left. Dachser are at the bottom of that road, Im Hasfeld. There’s a good Gasthof just round the corner, on Comotor Strasse but its not a short stroll.
Times from Zeebrugge to Luxembourg, Capellen Services - 4.30.
Capellen Services, Dachser - 1.45.
The bit of France from Calais up to Belgium is free. You won’t touch France again.
You can get the vignette for Belgium on your way back at the Texaco services on the A620 when you leave Dachsers. If you know when your journey back from the UK to Dachser will be, get a vignette for that journey at the same time. Saves hassle.
I’m not sure where to get your MAUT/Toll Collect for the first bit into Germany. But you can get it from the same services as the vignette, for the bit over to Ulm.
There’s a good Autohof at A8 J63 Ulm Ost where you’ll be able to get it back to Uberherrn.
Make a note of those junction names, the MAUT machine does not accept junction numbers, only names. If you need any other junction names, look them up before you go on Google Maps.
The MAUT machine will give you the shortest autobahn route to Ulm. It might put you onto the B10 from Pirmasens to Landau. That’s the route I would take.
If it doesn’t, put in a via point for Pirmasdens and another at Landau.
If it still routes you around by the Autobahn, do it in 2 parts. Saarlouis to Pirmasens, then Landau to Ulm.
Google puts it at 320km. That means you can’t get from Calais to Ulm in a 10 hour drive, you’ll be about 30 minutes to an hour short.
There’s a good Autohof at j56, Kircheim unter Teck West.
Another one at j61 Merklingen.
You should make either of those ok and if you get a REALLY good run, you might make it to Ulm, but I very much doubt it.
I think thats about it.
To add to some post, vignette for Belgium can be got at transmark signposted on the 16 after leaving Calais port. If going by train you can purchase it at the train terminal.
For German maut, that can be purchased at the services in cappellan
It’s not theirs anymore,
This is our England now.
Paaaaarrrrrrttttttttyyyyyyyy
were doing dover-calais, cant go on train as were carrying adr goods. judging by map and route planner to uberherrn straight down to reims across to metz, that sort of direction to there.
where can you avoid the hgv ban, something about the corridor■■?
The easiest way to go is come out of Calais port head along the motorway to the A16 and head north. This will take you towards Belgium along the corridor, from there you can go one of two ways, when you see signs for the A26 turn right (east) towards Lille and in to Belgium that way, which brings you out south of Brussels, there are no peage that way and you can get your vignette on the border at mons. This is a more complicated route especially for a first timer.
The easier route is to carry on along the corridor in to Belgium following the signs for Ostend then Brussels. This is a straight road till you get to the Brussels ring, when you get the ring follow signs for the expo and airport, this junction is a little confusing as you can see the road your joining but have to go through an interchange to get to it.
Follow the ring around, over the bridge then past the airport till you come to 2 tunnels, after the second tunnel go to the slip road on the right, it will be signposted to Luxembourg and just follow that road to Aire de Cappellan where you can get your maut for Germany.
Have fun, it can be quite interesting journey and watch out for belgian motorists, they can be quite unpredictable to say the least.
I’m not sure of driving times from N/hampton to Dover. At around 4.30 from Calais there are two truckstops. At j27 km 143 is relais St Christophe, which is my preferred one, but it isn’t open Sundays or holidays. The next one is at j29 km 165, Habay truck stop.
The corridor is the A16 from the ferry to the Belgian border. DoNot turn off it if its a Sunday or a holiday in France.
