Newbie here- worst A road in Scotland, your thoughts?

Every road in Scotland has been ruined by speed camera’s and over zealous police and Vosa stops.
shame coz it sure is beautiful.

and everyone in engurland is wonderful. Tool.

Far from it, they are more diverse & open minded here in the south, the weather is better & we speak properly-#■■■■■■

Hahaha! You are a funny guy. More diverse and open-minded? What about the riots your under 30’s were involved in. That wasn’t open minded that was bloody disgusting and animalistic destroying your own city’s for what exactly? For a couple of bags of crisps and maybe some new trainers…
Look what your governments diversity caused with your own soldier beheaded yards from his own barracks, So many asian gang-■■■■ cases over the news it’s unbelievable.

I have a lot of family far down south and they cannot even fly their own George’s cross for the police asking them to take it down, hahaha some country you have there!

Open your eyes you mug.

A814 Helensburgh/Faslane - Arrochar (common diversion if A82 is closed before Tarbet). How that got ‘A’ status, is beyond me !

Fair one.

A74 southbound at Gretna because it means I am leaving Scotland. I love driving in Scotland, all of it from the borders to the very top :stuck_out_tongue:

No
I’m not funny…! So what there were riots, they happened up & down the country because we (as a nation & the gov) failed the youths, are you telling me that the Scottish don’t steal trainers & bags of crisps■■?

Scotland is still part of British parliament if I’m not mistaken so it’s on them is well if you’re wanting to point fingers, people are gang raped daily all over the world not just in the UK!

I don’t fly no flags either, I’m not patriotic, I keep my zb to myself so no drama…!

Pimpdaddy:
For me all of Scotland is a zb hole, all because of the people…:frowning::(:frowning:

Here I was, thinking about voting NO to independence, then I read this, hmmm,i wonder :unamused:

Go ahead, either way it’s no skin off my nose…

The topic is worst road in Scotland, if you want to troll take it elsewhere, for the more sensible guys don’t bite at the obvious trolling it only encourages them  If you want to discuss nationalism or wether one nation/race etc is superior than another take it to a website that caters for those discussions, this one doesn’t.- get this back on topic or it will magically disappear… along with some folks unmoderated posting rights

A82 between carnwarth and galashiels is a nasty [zb] in an artic for a newbie.

You need to buy yourself a new map if the A82 runs between Carnwath and Galasheils on yours.:sunglasses::lol::lol:

Most of that is the A72 btw.

(try the A884 for size, before complaining about the A814 being an A-road)

It’s okay from H’Burgh up to the Whistlefield Roundabout (between Garelochhead and Portincaple) It’s just grim after the Green Kettle up to Arrochar.

Twenty-odd years ago, I did manage to overtake a 7.5T Parcel Force wagon in a Reliant Regal. The only bit straight enough is by the Glen Douglas turn off. I also knew someone who lived in Arrochar and his record to get down that road to Helensburgh was 15 mins. The state of the underside of his Fiesta was rather brutal. It’s a lot easier to overtake at night as you can see the headlamps quite a distance a few corners ahead.

I remember the A82 from Loch Lomond lodges up to the Arrochar before it was upgraded in the 1980s. It was pretty much like what the A814 still is.

Anyway, my nomination for the worst A road in Scotland is the A720 City of Edinburgh Bypass. It’s crap when it’s empty and it’s crap when it’s full.

I use the A75 loads and I can’t honestly say I’ve had any problems. I’m curious to know where it’s haunted because I’ve never felt a Sleepy Hollow thing

Supposedly on the Eastriggs to Gretna stretch but ‘apparently’ it’s the old 75 running parallel that has the hauntings.

Worst stretch of road has to be the A82 along the side of Loch Lomond, especially if you meet a Lochs and Glens coach coming flat out the other way. The best on the other hand is the A9 between Perth and Inverness, 109miles of scenery.

the a838 from lairg to laxford bridge must be one of the best and worst roads in scotland . best for the stunning scenery for all 41 miles , worst if you meet the fish lorries coming down from kinlochbervie , it is all single track and those lads don’t take prisoners .

A75. Worst? Some folk need to get out more.

Got to agree with an earlier poster, A720 everytime! The problem isn’t so much the road itself it’s just there are too many junctions that confuse the poor dears as they meander from one garden centre to another and it’s just like amateur hour but every hour of the day.

That’s only as far as some of us get! :stuck_out_tongue:

After seeing rikki-uk post , I’m sorry I started this thread.
Just wanted to see if anybody was going to nominate the A70/a75/a76 as my first experience of it was awful

Don’t be sorry the thread is a valid topic, with some very good responses its a shame that a few try to derail , but when you have been here a while you get to know who to ignore

once met a lochs and glens on rannoch moor, i was hoofing down from portree in a coach heading to gatwick, sacred the life out of him,
met him 2 weeks later in luss and he was shocked that we only 2 manned the run. was a slog thou

A702 from abington to Edinburgh is a good drive thou. nice views !

the A861 takes a bit of driving, did it a few times in a wagon and that was ■■■■ scary at night ,as its nearly all single track with passing places, mind you the A82 round Loch Lomond has to be one of the worst during holiday season when you get a wobble box whos scared,of ripping the side of it out, and those sodding lochs n glens or citylink coaches coming towards you
