Newbie help

Hi all,

So I went to to an open day for System training and the offer they have is £2200 + vat for cat C and Cat C+E (medical, theory and CPC also included in the price and also upto 4 retests if needed no extra cost) after passing they guarantee a job with one of the companies signed up to the academy mostly Supermarkets.
Theres no fee to pay up front but when you are in placement you pay £1 per hour to the training company out of your wage until the training fee has been paid.

When it came to discussing wages they stated they could either do PAYE or LTD, the training company stressed they prefer trainees to go limited as they will pay £11 per hour but if PAYE the rate would be £8-9.

Could anybody explain the pros and cons to going ltd or PAYE as apart from this the offer seams really good.

Had to look that up, thought they were a broker. As for the agency stuff, go PAYE, always. With Umbrella you are paying someone to sort your wages out, with LTD you are responsible for sorting out your own invoices/tax. There is a reason they want everyone to go LTD, if you mess up the tax man comes after you instead of them!

It seemed a bit of a strange one to me as I have no experience with it. They said they use a zebra scheme or something like that which is paye approved which means although you are LTD they will sort all of the tax an NI for a fee of around £20 a week.
They did state it wasnt an umbrella?

I wouldn’t trust any one with paying your tax but you cause at the end of the day if they didn’t pay your tax for you your the one the tax man will come looking for
