Hi all, I am newly licensed class 2, and am going to be leaving a full time job to sign up on some driver agencies, the fear/apprehension I have is the working/driving/other etc hours im allowed to do. It is bothering me so much that its holding me back from making the jump, I have to do it to justify my financial outlay. The moment I think I understand the “hours” thing, I read posts from people asking questions about this subject and it confuses me even more, so much so that im ready to give up the driving thing before ive even started. Maths wasnt/isnt my strongest subject, and my memory is like a sieve, is there any easy way of looking after myself when maybe working for two/three agencies?
Thank you in advance for any help.
First off, you’re more than likely to get placed by an agency and if you’re any good, they’ll keep you there. So don’t worry to much about limping one day to the next with different agencies.
Secondly, whilst you get to grips with the driver hours, take a 15 minute break mid-morning (before you have worked 6 hours) and then a 30 min break later which will reset your drive time. Simples!
Thirdly, read this! viewtopic.php?f=5&t=134561
Just because your licence is still wet doesn’t mean you can’t go into a full time job. My new job, along with me took on a brand new class 2 pass. He didn’t even have his licence back, only the pass certificate.
