No way hell on earth unless you intend on running illegal… ie a regular weekly rest period of at least 45 hours
So the only way you going to get experience is a mix of driving class one and two during the week…

Not quite right mate, as you can take reduced weekly rests basically every other weekend. So say driving one Saturday a fortnight…
It’s a bit more complicated than that though, as you can reduce your weekly rest, 2 weekends in a row, but you have to pay that back within a certain limit. ROG or Tachograph are your men if you want the EXACTLY accurate details. I don’t want say more, as Coolrider will be all over me like a rash!

Yeh Ive read about the ■■■■■■ tension with that guy…lmao…
Maybe the royal we shouldnt reply to these newbies unless they state the hrs they are already driving…etc etc… Safer bet I think

I know the rules I ment work on a Saturday or a Sunday every other weekend. it’s proper crap every agency I phone want at least 6 months experience so starting to think I av wasted me time and money doing class 1

Nope, Priest on here does the odd shift “here and there” for a supermarket chain. It’s only a waste if you don’t plan on eventually stepping up to Class 1…

Funny isn’t it! - I’m playing up to him now, but sadly he didn’t pop in yesterday!
I’ve never fully investigated the exact details of the payback required by taking reduced weekly rests, but that may be because I’ve never needed to. Plus it’s hard to remember everything until you have to put it into practice, or maybe that’s just me…

Cant see the point in reduced weekly periods… you end up having to pay them back / compensating the time …
For example – if a driver has a weekly rest period of 33 hours and has 45 hours rest in week 2 and 3, then in week 4 he must have a 45 hour rest period plus 12 hours ‘compensation’ (45-33 = 12).
Id rather just stick to the basics… aim to drive for 45hrs per week… have 45hrs off at weekends… its less hassle…

I’d also like to keep it simple, but there are jobs out there where you’re expected to work say a Saturday every other week. The payback/compensation SHOULDN’T really be a problem though, as taking a full weekend off should easily give you the hours to make the payback. But agreed, I’d rather earn my crust over 5 days and not 6…
