Newark to Norwich, which way to go?

gm:
The A14 if fine but you’ll be adding a good 50-60 miles - and then the A11 is single from Mildenhall to Thetford

It’s not as much as that, only about 30 miles further according to Autoroute and other than the 10 mile stretch you mention it’s all dual carriageway and only a couple of roundabouts. If it was 50-60 miles further then I wouldn’t be even considering it.

Paul

as regards vosa at sleaford just turn left and go through cranwell takes no more than 5 mins
used to do blocks out of newark went that way a lot never got pulled either.
simples!!

I’m glad i read this thread as I’m loading boston on monday for falkirk so I’ll take the A17 then the A1 to scotch corner and I’ll keep the speed down as advised

We always took the A17 although I hate every mile of it.

yep i can go with that

i used to know how many roundabouts there was between boulby mine and kings lynn

and it was quite a few

thankfully i would now struggle to get to boulby

shovel driver at boulby used to be erm, inconsistant ,is probably the least offensive thing i can think of

he could totally stuff your day when going down there :imp:

but he’s long gone i think

Dunno yet, I’ve just been told it’s Great Yarmouth, I’ll know for sure when I get the ticket in the morning.

MR VAIN:
Well ask any Norfolk driver which way from Norwich to Newark and there is only one route, A17. .

Yep got to agree with that mate. not so sure about this though

Just sit back and relax, don’t push the speed limit, it ain’t worth it

Give it large, you know has to be done, and each muddy wheelerin a ditch is a bonus point  .

I had to start working from felixstowe, my license just couldnt cope with the A17

A17/A47 for me as well
