SteveBarnsleytrucker:
Ain’t some contractors using it as a storage area or somthing?
I don’t know for sure, but I’m thinking that it might be something to do with the Railways, but yes, it seems that there is a lot of construction stuff and cabins here, set right beside the rail track.

I thought I’d read that they were building some council offices in the top park and it would be permanently unavailable once this was completed?

Matt.
That’s a ■■■■■■■■■ trick from the council if true. It’s always rammed full and the lay bys from Worksop all the way to Newark and beyond are a crime hotspot for diesel thefts and load thefts.

Could be, I put 2+2 together, just to come up with a random answer. I thought that the way the cabins and equipment had been placed adjacent the trackside, might be to give access to the track.

Cant argue with that statement Steve. Just makes more agro trying to find somewhere to park. Reckon Colsterworth will be having to complete their extension, as that gets rammed aswell. Came out of there early doors a couple of weeks ago, and the trucks were parked everywhere, you could only exit through the diesel canopy

I wonder if it does end up as office blocks then has Colsterworth known about it and that’s why the are extending?
Oh well, lets hope they find a nice place well away from all those poor residents, because we would hate inconvenience anyone. OMG locals of Cromwell, you brought a house next to one of the main arteries of the country, what did you really expect
I like the suggestion that Drivers use Newark instead of Markham Moor, due to its proximity to local services(which might true), skating over the fact that Markham Moor is run by the most miserable people outside transport I’ve ever had the misfortune to give cash too.

Got to agree there markham moor is a joke of a place,it’s like drivers are an inconvenience to the staff…
Isn’t it nice to be popular eh?
They don’t want our custom in the town pubs, shops and cafes, they just want us to deliver everything they use and need, and ■■■■ off and disappear until next time.
Human rights? …Even that group/community who are not to be mentioned on here have more rights than us when it comes to somewhere to stay, and I reckon it’s just about got to the stage where we are even second in the popularity stakes to them.

Looking at the residents comments, they can’t see that a secure place for parking near there town will lesson the number of lorries in the neighbouring lay-bys and all the mess and inconvenience that goes with them. If the park is well designed that would barely know it’s there.

Stranger things have happened.
I wouldn’t be surprised in that scenario, if Colsterworth then put their charges up
You’d have to pay me to park in that muddy field at Colsterworth. Better off turning off the A1 at Stretton and taking the B668 towards Oakham. About 1/4 mile on there’s a nice quiet set back lay-by on both sides of the road so an easy u turn to get back onto the A1 in the morning.

At least it’s tarmac’d and never fills up. Agree about the food, not great.

Yep, very nice if your employer allows you to use your own judgement, only mine don’t any more, so I have to park at recognised lorry parks.
