Just a heads up, the A14 in suffolk is getting a new Vosa checkpoint built.
Junction 47 westbound (no doubt to check traffic headed for Felixstowe). It’s being built in the piece of land opposite where Goldstar are based. Woolpit/Haughley area.
It’s all been kept very quiet around here but it looks like it’ll be a proper big one with the sheds that you drive into etc.
Eyes open people, can’t imagine we’ll get any warning when it does open!
It might be a MOT centre too so not specifically just for the DVSA to use…although to coin an old phrase “if you’ve done nothing wrong you have nothing to worry about”.

Absolutely, I just imagine they’ll be playing with their new toy once it’s open and pulling anything and everything for any minor offence. Just a heads up to keep your truck in tip top condition if you’re doing the Felixstowe run.
Thought it was a park and ride and the tall shed was for bus maintenance!
What new toy is that then Hammy

Believe it’s a ■■■■■■ inspection rear facing camera.
they must have plenty of money then, considering that they are not government funded anymore, agree that if you have done nothing wrong then you have nothing to worry about, but those buggers could find something wrong with a brand new vehicle, anything to get your hard earned money for their theiving hands, the amount of times my heart rate has gone up every time you see them pull off and sit behind you before overtaking and going on their way, swear they get off on it ,scumbags

If it’s a DVSA plot then I wouldn’t have thought it will have anything to do with MoT testing - didn’t they say that they were committed to having all testing done at ATFs rather than on their own sites?
I don’t get what the fuss is about, I use a14, 4 days a week in truck and sure enough, as night follows day. DVSA have been lurking between Ipswich north junction (Clacton) and the junction past that huge LPG/tractor shop even on Sunday pulling trucks in. Not as though it’s going from no enforcement on a14 to 24/7. They have always been there.
