No you would still have to put it on manually.open the dorr and it buzzes at you.
Shame it doesn’t come on automatically if you open the door, I’d give up the opportunity to reverse with the door open for that feature as it would then totally negate roll aways.

I was having a good look around the outside of a new FH the other day and I noticed that the wing tops and mud wing assembly was identical to the ones on my Renault Premium. I know they are all part of the same company but I’d have thought that with Volvo being that bit more upmarket, they wouldn’t have fitted the same ones as they do on a gaffer spec Renault.
Although I suppose the standard fitted LED rear lamp unit gives it more of a quality look about it.
It is only a wheel arch ,why would a company spend the money and time to design different arches for different model on how they are perceived …The arch was designed to do a job end off …If it is the best design ,and most efficient design ,then are they meant to do something less efficient as it isn’t a gaffers motor it is going on ■■?
Johnny aka Little John:
I had one of these last month. The cupboards are too small, the top bunk is too narrow, there is no leg room on the passenger side. side lockers are tiny.
I would have a volvo any day.
I thought that DAF where known for the best bunk going …ie width and comfort ■■?Also isn’t the XF mean to have loads of room /space & internal cupboard space ■■?
DAF’s initial build is 4x2 as that is what Europe mainly use

It was just an observation really…Still, it could be worse. They could have fitted the same ones that DAF use I suppose.:geek::geek:
damoq …the smileys just came up as letters ,must be a Renault thing
still made me laugh though …Do you know what is happening with Border Truck in Bellshill ,as it is up for sale ■■? Do you reckon Scot Truck may reappear

Never heard anything about Border Trucks going up for sale. We only deal with them when Ryder can’t sort a truck out, for example when they spent hours trying to figure out why one of our trucks was having problems starting and loosing power. Border Trucks had it for an hour and found Ryder hadn’t fitted the fuel filters properly. ? But we’ll be joining your dark side in January. Our new fleet of CFs will be joining us.
My Renault is staying for another year though so I’m happy.
Yep Border Truck is up for sale has been for a while ,Think it is in scottish transport news …Looking forward to meting youon the darkside ,we do a lot of Ryder who love DAF’s work …Will need to remember to derate your truck

Our gaffer will want them turned up a bit before we get them. 53mph means some of our trucks struggle to do their night runs in their time. 55/56mph is what he wants. Doesn’t bother me though.
DAF leave the factory at 90 …So unless your boss says otherwise they will be 90
Border Trucks have done up the premises well to show the trucks off ,but see to have a large stock ,which I thought would have been for customers ,but they have been there for a while…Knew the previous owners.
Your half right Norb. The bottom bunk is really good, but when your double manned the top one is crap. The lockers are tiny because of the high lights. Which take all the space. and are illegal in some countries. And i am biased anyway cause i love volvos.
Like this one,
nothing wrong with a bit of bias …the skylights are legal in the European union due to the fact a vehicle doesn’t have to be approved as such in each country(I forget the word
) they only have t be done now in Holland and that covers the union
How does this “living mode” work, had a night out last night everything in cab shut off after 15 mins didn’t make a difference if key was in or out. Also message on dash saying “pre-delivery mode activated”. Apart from that cracking truck.
we have a had a few flat batterys on our new volvos and one in our yard has been into volvo twice in 2 weeks for problem and i dont know if anyone else can confirm but nearly all of them have had brake failiure warning symbols on the dash
We have three new XL’s so far, one has had trouble, needed a new brain, but mine and the other has been fine. All got around 20K on them now and so far no other problems other than a loose exhaust clamp. Not had any worries with batteries even with fridge and night heater running all night.
Only other problem was down the people who fitted the tracker, I had headlights on and couldn’t switch off, the switch wouldn’t work, turned out the lousy fitter hadn’t plugged the wires back into the hitch light.
i think to be honest its just teething problems as with anything new suppoose its best to buy once they been out a yr or so that way there is more chance of thinks being ironed out
Dunno how anyone can say the lockers in the daf are too small. I just spent 11.5months living in a xf105 with out going home and there is more then enough space for all your kit. haven’t had the chance to drive the new volvo yet but i was really Impressed with the i-shift in a 60plate one i drove a few days ago

space wise you cant go wrong in a daf fridge is great too and under bunk storage is great although i would swap mine for a volvo even the older shape one
