Has anyone else had problems with their fridge seeming to go on defrost mode when parked up on a night? I’ve had my volvo now nearly a year and never had any problems with the fridge however a lately when I wake up after a night out and open my fridge the freezer section has defrosted through the night.
The fridge is working and the temperature is still showing and the blue light is on when open. I have it set to 3 and it seems to be when the engine is running it starts to freeze things up again( I’ve had new battery’s fitted about 4 month ago so it can’t be battery’s low on juice)
Doing my head in as stuff such as chicken/meat I have put in to freeze is defrosted in the morning and has to be used when I’m not wanting it. Anyone got any ideas what could be wrong?
The very first thing I would check with any problem with a truck fridge is that the air intake isn’t blocked with dust.
The fridge normally turns itself of if you have night heater on overnight, if voltage drops below a certain point, you can normally tell the green light turns red, as for freezing up , have you got the divider in the fridge, if not you need to set it about 7 or 8 to keep it chilled without freezing

Yeah got the divider in mate. I don’t mind it freezing food up in there as I cook for myself and sometimes bring a weeks worth of chicken casserole/stew curries etc ive done at home and reheat it through the week.
