There are some other new engines and stuff too.

Pfffftttt 730, why on earth would anyone need that much power. Silly, just silly…

Swedish haulier running at over 70 tonnes?

I think Lukes comment was slightly tongue in cheek as it is well known he pilots a Volvo that has a certain, somewhat high, horsepower

Especially if it’s only a 4x2 as well, What’s the chuffing point!

Coming to an Irish fridge truck near you.
Those boys love their Topline Scanny V8’s
Don’t let inconvience of motorway inclines impede your progress when fully loaded and you’ve got a ferry to catch.
If you’ve got it, flaunt it!

you’ll not see many 3 axle units.unless they are specialist lorries.i think its a british thing having 3+3 to keep
the road tax cheaper… think on their,s not the same road tax idea in europe…just a min we are in europe.

Probably has something to do with 44ton requiring 6 axles in British law, oh and also the small fact that (and I stand to be corrected) 40 ton on 5 axles is the standard weight in many countries on the continent.

   I would like to be given the chance to do some flaunting, I just need to get a few more than 440 to make wothwhile

5 is a great number 6 is a third of the number of the beast.

As the song states “3 is the greatest number” and 6 must be twice as good, do the maths

I’m amazed they’re still at 730 & have let Volvo hold the crown at 750 for so long.

Bit of an achievement getting a v8 through at Euro 6 though, hats off.

That’s because Scania are spending all their time and effort making their new trucks look exactly the same as their old ones.

Lol, what’s with them black eye brows on the “stream line” I mean how to make a truck look ■■■■, they could at least paint them. It’s like they just didn’t quite finish the design & couldn’t be arsed so sent it out on a Friday & went to the pub instead. I appreciate they save fuel but come on.

On the v8 they put a bit of chrome on the top of them, I mean just make them all chrome.

I still think the Scania looks great even though it hasn’t changed much in so many years. If it ain’t broke…

I’ve got a Streamline, and them “eye brows” are supposed to flow the air to help keep the side windows clear, they dont work :unamused: , our fleet man was giving all the percentage spiel about the extra fuel saving one day, so I turned and looked at the 20’ container sitting in the middle off the slider and :unamused: :unamused: :unamused: . Something else I’ve noticed, the sun visor has been redesigned for better areodynamics no doubt, but when it rains water shoots around it and straight accross the side windows, coming from the front top corner, and running diagonaly down the window, briliant really helps visabilty, going to have to get some side window deflectors to stop it :unamused:

Just to sound not quiet so ungrateful in my observasions, its allways nice to get a brand new motor, especialy when it comes with fridge microwave and coffee maker fitted, see where my priorities lie

I thought they had gotten rid of the nostrils either side of the grille? Thats progress!

Being fair, there is a certain amount of if it aint broke to consider but I have to agree. You see a new Ovlov or MP4 and its still an occaision, its something different. You have too look at the plate to tell if the Scanny is fifteen years old or one of the “all new” versions. And no, before someone says it, it doens’t show how ahead of their time Scania were!

Interesting that they are all now the bigger 16.4L lump. Modular engine blah blah, same pistons as 6 pot.
