Noticed that a new truck stop and 7 lane fueling stop is opening there soon with space for 60 trucks at junction 36.
Looks like space for 60 miniature trucks!
To be fair, I think it’s a decent location. It’s next to a McDonalds and a pub ■■■■■ Premier Inn. 60 trucks beats the capacity for two that the area has now, wedged in that little road between the pub and McDonalds.
A few years ago, there were rumours a truck stop was going to be built at junction 6 on the M18 at Thorne. That was replaced by rumours that there’s going to be a massive industrial estate built there. As you go past it northbound, there’s a load of land on your left, opposite The Range, where supposedly half a dozen huge distribution centres are going to be built. It’s going through the planning process as we speak.
