I think it’s safe to assume that you’ll have upset several snack bar owners (that should read gangsters/thugs, as most of them are) in the surrounding area and further a field, who will have regarded your honest venture as a real threat to their daily business.
What a great shame, but you’re better out of it, as these low life scum would stop at nothing to put you out of business anyway.
Quickie:
Found out today that a certain major retailer has purchased the site for a lot of money.
There were no snack vans in the local area, however another facility was owned by persons not unknown to the police…
So either way, the place is being flattened over the coming months anyway!
Having just read the whole thread, from your posts it sounded as if you had already payed out your 100k & bought the site, so presumably its you who has taken a large profit on it?
Or had you just agreed to rent it & splashed the 100k on prepping it up?
In which case a bit more due dilligence & a visit to the local planning office to see if there was anything in the pipeline might have been worthwhile.
As you seem to own the access road/layby, you’ll be able to hold them to ransome for access!
Shame, always good to have a new truckstop and from a business point of view, they definately make money if run well. (I’ve previously researched in some depth).
The good news is the government have just said you can now go & buy a farmers field & build one on a motorway.
Could I politely suggest SD that you use the edit feature & edit the title to reflect the project’s latest status - save others reading 3 pages only to find a locked gate at the end of it.
