Not many new un’s sold so far this year
Daf really are topping the market by a long shot arnt they!
Any ideas why DAF are selling so many to everyone else?
Can only imagine that they supply an decent all round package with good back up…And probably at a decent price …Also big customers ,BOC , ROYAL MAIL ,RYDER are just 3…Assembled in the uk may also play a part
the last of the euro 5s will give sales a boost prior to euro 6 …though the order cut off date can’t be too far away
Yes, one of the places iv been working at recently use all of Ryders stuff and its all DAF, i can only imagine there cheap, as they are so badly spec’d.
Saw a DAF LF artic the other day which is something I havnt seen before (was pulling a Kuhne & Nagel Trailer) Looked really strange in honesty!
The LF cab on the 18T chassis looks strange as well i think, small cab with a big body, but they shift when you put your boot down!
I really like the CF cab so much more room than the LF, but its just such a shame about that horrible seal on the window that blocks your view of the mirrors, its infuriating!!
I think its could be down to the reg number, some just don’t want 13 on there truck.
a bog standard xf 105 superspace 6x2 is 76k plus vat - and i mean bog standard, fridges for example are not standard which surprised me, i’ve just had a quote doen this week for what would be my ideal specced daf, and it came to an eye watering 90k plus vat, so suffice to say i’ll be sticking to my present truck for the forseable future. apparently the technology involved in getting emissions to euro 6 is pushing the price up by 12% - and whether this is true i dont know , thats on all makes not just daf. i cant see that being a great selling point, its not like every city in the country has lez’s. i reckon mercedes will be a strong contendor for the top spot… where as volvo on the other hand, frankly have produced a very cheap looking truck - i got a good look at one the other day
I have just put a brand new ssc on the road on march the first and to me the deal was spot on.My old daf was on a 54 plate and a very good motor indeed so good infact i was not too bothered if i changed it or not.I told the salesman this to and over the years he has done me a few quotes all i can say if you take in the two years maintenance you get plus the tax i would have had to pay if i had not bought it plus the daf finance rates i would have been a fool not to buy it.I know people like knocking the daf product but i now drive a truck of my dreams it has many extras including durobrites i could not be more pleased with it and to cap it all it was built in england so i have helped keep someone in our country in work

It’s difficult to believe that in the 21st Century, anybody could be so dim-witted as to imagine that misfortune was more likely to happen to them because a vehicle had one shape of numeral on a piece of plastic rather than another, and all because an imaginary thirteenth person sat down with twelve other imaginary people 2,000 years ago in a fairy story.
People do, I know, but I just cannot understand their level of mental retardation.
Hope this works out Kindle. Here is our new additiom the day I picked it up.
you (she!) did it !! Lovely bit of kit, are you running at 4mtrs now, as i remember you saying you were having lower profile tyres fitted. You can put some pics up in the photo forum as well mate! P.S For someone who works out of Felixstowe, that is a brilliant number plate! I know it was on your old motor, but i thought id just mention it on here.
ah yes mr professor - i know who you are thats a nice motor, believe me i have already thought through all of the points you made about servicing etc, the big stubbling block for me is that i wouldnt be comfortable unless i could get the balance of finance down to near 60k - and that would mean finding 30k or so and that’s just not possible right now - or even before the new more expensive euro6 comes out, i reckon 18 months would be more realistic, truck would be paid up and the car would have to go also.
It is just a ■■■ paper over 4m,i did not have the lower profile tyres as if i did daf could not have fitted the size diesel tank i wonted so i opted, for the bigger tank, its got a fixed 5th wheel which keeps the height down a bit and on the old truck i never moved it in 7 years so i did not think this was a problem. The number plate was a real nice surprise birthday present off the wife years ago.
That’s a lovely looking truck, very subtle but distinctive livery and so clean and new that it makes the car park look dirty!
Thanks Harry

I agree with you but, the other day there was two people chatting about buying a car, and one of them said just bought mine on 1 march, the other guy said 13 reg, would not want that on my car he said, yes i no ask for a 62 plate instead.
make me wonder why he just did not get a private plate
I got my wife a private plate for her car, J13 ***, i also got a private plate for my car, J13 *** £200-ish each from DVLA, we got married on June 13th, hence the J13. The cars havent suddenly exploded or had anything go wrong with them, im sure they will last us as long as we own them. (And we are still happily married.)
