Darktower, you will be finding out that, even when you turn up from the agency, you will be expected to know everything about the company you are working for. I carry spare Tacho rolls &Tacho charts, not all have digi cards. As in the army, if you’re not sure ASK. Ask the office chaps for breakdown/emergency contact number. If not given paperwork ask where it is, does it get signed? Which bit do they need back etc. fuel cards & filling up, where do I get oil, water & air etc. basically anything you might need to know. Look at it as your umbrella, you asked, if they don’t supply the info it’s not your problem.

ZB were the initials of the sites first moderator, Zzarbean.
When he edited a post, he put his initials in to show he’d done it.
Site tradition, edits are still marked with zb

What happened to Zzarbean then?

Well this site actually started in 2001 I think.
Zzarbean, like many others has moved on. He does a lot of stuff with the PDF/PDA now and pops up on here occasionally.

On the off chance that you actually want some sensible advice…

Lose the army haircut.
Lose the attitude. Yes we know and appreciate what you did in Afghanistan/Kuwait/Bosnia but to be brutally honest we don’t really want to hear about it.
Use your training to keep your head down and your eyes and ears open and your gob shut. I don’t mean don’t ask questions - I do mean, don’t offer anyone advice on how it was done so much better in the army.
Don’t hang the job out, but don’t rush either.
When some ■■■■ in an RDC starts talking about his glory days in some special forces mob, bite your tongue and walk away. Resist the temptation to insert your safety boot into his ■■■■■■.

The main attraction of being a driver is certainly not the money. It is the ability, to some extent at least, to manage your own work, and the pleasure of your own company for long periods of time.

There is a lot more I expect but that will do for now - good luck and happy motoring.
