So got new tacho card weeks ago . Leaflet said use old card until expiry date which was yesterday..use new card from start date today.
So inserted new card. Went do manal entry. And it was showing up as been on rest for about a month or date card was issued.
So canceled manual entry .
Told office.
Will I get an infringment or error codes as new card showing been on rest for about a month but old card shows been working
Don’t worry.
You keep your old card with you to show the true record. Because the new card has a start date, nothing before the start date on the new card means a thing.
Edit to add: Keep the old card with you at work for 28 days if on UK work, but for 56 days if doing Eu work. Download the old card as normal after your last shift on it then only down load the new card as needed.
If you had tried using the new card before the start date an error message would have flashed up on the tacho head. A message also flashes up if you try using an out of date card. Invalid Card Inserted or similar
