MERC salesman was pushing for us to order early as there’s a BIG increase in the Euro 6 engine (£7k) !
So fingers x , of course it’s down to figures if they can make the math work I get one if not I have to stick with old one or worse get another make , just not DaF please lol

Still looks tidy for 7yrs old. Im with you on the DAF thing. I cant stand them. Now if I was your TM, I’d put my order in for a new Actros for you mate. Your mob only run one artic, so why not make it something special that stands out from the crowd. It would be a good advertising tool for them and you would be one happy driver!

Love your way of thinking mate but the boss is tighter than a ducks arse that’s why our colour scheme is white (factory colour) do he doesn’t need to paint them! But to be fair it’s a clean look that works .And maybe that’s why we are still going and haven’t paid of any drivers since the crap hit the pan a few years ago now!
Personally I would love the new giga space but I doubt If it’s going to happen (and truth be told as I only do the odd night out it would be wasted on me, but very apriciated lol )
Thankfully i think DaF burned there bridges with us (they sent in 6 cabs with wrong hight ie sent low cabs not the high ones and didnt really do much to help sort it after the 1st turned up !)
The plan is new unit and a either a refurb on the trailer or new one . There thinking is a refurb is going to cost at least £6k inc new curtains . Where u can get at new trailer for £18k and that’s basically trouble free for a few years etc !

Well if its not their bridges they are burning, its usually their wiring looms! Piles of pooh. Have they not thought of leasing a new trailer. At least that way things like MOT, servicing, repairs and tyres are all included in the monthly cost. If you do get a new Actros, Ill volunteer to do your holiday cover as its probably the only way ill ever get to drive one.
Had a drive in a streamspace Actros today and all I can say is wow, smooth gearchanges, comfy seats and they seem to have got rid of that annoying leaning when you go round corners. Also got told today that we have 2 coming in september, hope one of them has my name on it

This is the same one I had a drive in today, and yes I agree, great fun and a cracking goodie bag from Merc in Aberdeen as well.
Totally agree I had the Giga space out and my Lh rolls more than it ! Had the mega space a few times and it was bad on corners. The rep was saying that the new one has a wider chassi and tighter cab springs to stop the rolling .
I thought it was a great truck gear change really smooth altho would have liked to have had loaded trailers to feel it pull loaded ! But I suppose it’s about the drive it gives and I thought it was flawless

Hi mate I work for Jw Filshill cash n carry at hillington in Glasgow.
Only have one artic but there is 22 ridged 26t’s in Gladgow, 3 in Inverness and 2in Newcastle (Chester lee street) all them apart from 6Daf’s are MERC Actros’s LH cabs,
Usual C&C stuff beer , sweets , soft drinks etc

He says they are ok to work for!!! Not going to argue with you, but its one nightmare of a place to deliver to for someone who doesn’t work there. Might even put that on the thread about the worst places to tip.
Never said there where a good company to deliver to I just said they was good company to work for lol
I think it’s ok if your delivering full loads they mostly go to “Shed D” (russels side) they boys are clued up, the warehouse side get all the crap . As everything needs to be scanned in if the all the crap deliverys come in with the Ones n twos it can screw the whole other deliverys .
If any consolation I get no priority in our own place !!!

Saw a demo one in Trafford Park on Thursday night, looks the dogs danglies
Just seen my first new Actros out on the motorway - 6x2 all in silver pulling an Elddis trailer (Reg started FH12).
All I can say is, after not really taking to them in the pictures, they look a LOT better on the road. Really had a great presence!
