New start In Canada

Anyone looking for a new start in pastures new. Offers of a new start in Canada if interested .

I bet they’ll have a few candidates apply for that!

Could be all bull or a cow of a job. There might be udder opportunities or the advert is only calf the truth. I’m trying not to milk this but it could just be a tall tail.

what a load of bullocks… :stuck_out_tongue:

Knew I’d missed one-waiting for the others (udders I’ve already used)

I looked into this before.

There’s a few requirements:
You need to be under 45
You need to have 5 years Class 1 experience moving something relevant/similar in the UK
You must have a clean criminal record

Healthcare over there works in a very different way to the UK and NHS. Where as the employer might be offering insurance, it is unlikely the policy will include pre-existing medical conditions and if you were to get stick and it can be linked to something pre-existing, they wont pay out and you’re stuck with a huge bill Even if the insurance does pay out, there will be a “co-pay” element where you pay the first $5K for a hospital trip for example

Their idea of driving hours are a bit different to the UK too.

I just assume if the locals don’t want the job im probably not going to like it either

Mooove out of the way as this is a bit of me…[emoji16][emoji16]

Screw that man, cattle hauling not something I would want to do. I got a buddy here originally from kingswinford and he hauls cattle from Alberta down to the states. Long hours and push push push, load and unload the cattle yourself as well as being ■■■■ on and ■■■■■■ on and having to wash out your trailer after, driver is responsible to help remove any stock that dies on route, apparently done with a farmer or someone from slaughterhouse slicing said cattle up with a chainsaw :open_mouth:
My buddy had his arm broken 3 times so far from falling off his trailer or being hit by angry cattle and I think has a gammy leg too from it (not agency related )
He claims to make decent money from it but in my opinion, the risk is not really worth the reward in that case but fair play and good luck to whoever wants that job.

Disclaimer: I have never hauled cattle and am by no means an expert on the matter, all information is based on what I been told and may or may not have been exaggerated

40-60 hours driving per week obviously means 60 hours driving within an 80-90 hour working week. No thanks.

No thanks, Canada has it’s own multicultural social experiment problems. Their left wing leader is a traitor to his country

Up to 70 hours a week for on duty and driving time combined (13 hr driving or 14hr on duty) but if you cross the 60th parallel and go into the northern parts of Canada then you can do 80 hours a week (16 hr driving or 18hr on duty I think)

Think it’s less in the states but causes all sorts of headaches I’d imagine when crossing the border as you have to go by the rules of the country you are in so can end up crossing into the states and be immediately out of hours and in violation!

Oh and in Canada you can pretty much go for 13 hours driving a day with no break! (Except dangerous goods where we have to stop every 3 hours to do a safety check)

Spot on , fortunately Just-In has called an election for October 21st and with everything crossed hopefully it’ll be his final hour .
Regards the job advert , cattle haulers run hard , very hard . They might have exemptions on their hours of service which is fine whilst running paper log books but with electronic logs just around the corner it’ll be a different ball game , no more six figure wages for sure . I’d be giving this opportunity a very wide berth .

I looked at professional driving in Canada about 25 years ago. Went as far as looking up if professional driver was listed as one of the required skills, and was surprised to see that it was. When I looked further, I was puzzled to see the requirements were to be able to work at certain depths with certain gas mixes. Then the penny dropped that I was actually looking at professional divers! well that killed that bright idea stone dead.

Ironically, I’m now qualified as a diver to those depths and gas mixes, but no way would I do it for a living.

Trudeau is a bit of a piece of work, another Rothschild/committee 300 patsy and then some.I heartily recommend an illuminated Canadian website called ‘Snippets&Snappits’ for a good oversight, with stunning photographs of Canadian wilderness locations, thrown into the mix.

I feel I ve missed something here………where is this job located ? Canada is a vast country for example the uk would fit into alberta 4 times size wise. Also one red flag for me is the percentage bit in the wage calculation. The latest scam pulled by employers is the self employed one ……you have to set up your own limited company and hence you are respondsible for workmens compensation and other costs I m not sure if this is the case here but the percentage of truck earnings bother me. If you are shut down in some remote spot owing to the lovely winters we have here you re not earning a cent. Theres a tanker outfit in Calgary that regularly advertises on indeed stating that all new hires have to be self employed .Wayne Robinson ex Leicestershire 42 years in alberta Canada now retired former fuel hauler
