New Sheeting and Roping thread ! [Merged]

It does look like a very awkward load.
I do not know exactly what size sheets are being used there, but I would think the front sheet might have better turned through 90deg, so the longer sides were across the bed, not along it. That way it mighty have reached the bed. But from many miles and years away it is easy to find fault.

Fly sheet looks a bit short

Agreed, it looks short.
Some risk of water running off the fly and pooling in the “cut” between the reels on the arse end, but all the same, probably doing the best thing by keeping it fully over the headboard and stopping it ballooning. Roping over the top? Not normally a good idea.
Apart from the ropes on top of the fly, doing a reasonable job with what is available.

Edit.
The post I was replying to has now disappeared.

Typical BRS crappy job :-1:

How would you, or one of your drivers have done it differently?

Tidy job

Hello gents, looking for a bit of advice from the old school please. How do you make the back end look tidy when you’ve loaded an odd number of pallets/bags/whatever and the forklift places the last lift onto the centre of the trailer at the back for weight distribution? I’ve tried to find pics of something similar on here but most loads pictured are full width. I never manage to make such a load tidy enough for my own liking, sheet ends up with wrinkles galore. Does anyone have any pictures of such a load?

Place the odd pallet in the middle of the load.

Tidy job Dennis dont you think, its bog rolls by the way so it could be a crap job

Looks a bit “spongy” to me Buzzer ! But them Geordies could never match us Cumbrians or Scotsmen when it came to S & R skills  Here is a shot of a proper sheeted and roped load of Bog Rolls at Bowater Scotts Barrow Mill . I did this load myself and I just took the shot before I exited the mill on my way back to Milnthorpe for one of our night trunks .

Oh and Ooo Arr a shot for all our Country members from way back mid 70’s Two MF Combines ex Kilmarnock en route to East Anglia IIRC !

Is the flysheet more a tarp for rain-proofing and only ‘anchored down’ via the lower edge loops on it etc?

Good idea mate, I hadn’t thought of that. Not always possible in places where we have to stay in the cab during loading, but I will try it next time if I can, thank you.
