New services M25 Cobham

Went in there last night for a nose and a shower, lovely place, toilets all fresh and tidy ( wonder how long that’ll last)
Watch the concrete buffers behind you in the parking bays though, it’s only been open a week and there was a load of mudflaps/ wing fixings lying around…
Was impressed with the variety of food on offer
Went for my shower, there’s 4 (but one was out of order, already)
Good shower, sensor operated but at least you get more than 2 seconds at a time, heat adjustable too, so far so good…
The cubicle light’s on a timer, about three minutes I’m guessing, it went off twice when I was in anyway, you have to open the shower door and wave your hand about to activate it, soaking the floor in the process, which wouldn’t be a major issue if there was somewhere to put your stuff… Not a seat, shelf or hook in sight
I had to try and hang my rucksack on the door handle, and keep everything in it
I know some idiots steal hooks etc but come on, how can you have a shower when you can’t hang anything up off the floor■■?
Think Extra’s manager should try it out and see how they get on

And all this cost how much ?

I think its £21
I stopped there for a Maccy d’s the other morning

And that includes a meal voucher in with that does it ?

Dunno, like i say I stopped for a macca’s
No way I would pay 21 quid to park a wagon for the night

Owen

£21, does that include an armed patrol and a wake up call?

Only McD’s were open midnight sunday. Greggs & KFC were already shut down for the night. :frowning:

I like the footprints across the mud where they’ve not bothered to put in little footpaths to get around line-of-sight drivers like me who can’t be arsed to walk the long way around…

I thought the parking spaces where a bit tight, was like being on the ferry trying to get out the cab

Why not get yourself an “S” hook large enough to hang over the top of the shower door so you can hang your bag on it, a 2nd S hook will allow you to hang your towel up

Hiya i,am with you perrie. you can buy a plastic thing you can hang your clothes over the top of a door
to save space at home, get one of those and keep it in your rucksack. think yourself lucky to have another service
station to park… in my book that must be in a very useful area.
John

Makes you think doesn’t it.

I’ve stayed in Travelodge for £19/night for two of us, with a cont. breakfast each and a reasonable bed with en suite…and Premier Inn the same for £29…

And we’re expected to pay £21 just to park and use the loo/shower.

Why do we put up with it■■? :unamused:

it always make me wonder if you stopped in the car at a travellodge in the services and got free parking if you could wangle that for the lorry as well.

works when I’m working away with the coaches, I just check in using the ANPR camera jobby in the lodge. I make sure to park out of the way just I case they get busy overnight.
