New rules

I heard from another driver last night of three rule changes

1, weekly rests have now been reduced from 45 to 36 hours

2, trampers only to have 11 hrs daily rest, no more 9’s

3, must show 30 minutes start of shift for vehicle checks

So folks just take note and be careful out there !!

I can tell you that this is company policy for one well known haulier.
(A Shunter employee was run over whilst walking in the yard by a driver
who had not yet inserted his card. The sheet then hit the fan for the
Driver - big time.)

Actually, they want to see 20 minutes of "Other Work " at the start of shift.
(You sign for this written instruction then instant sack for any violation.)

Tacho must also be “shift start time adjusted” - no shove in card and drive.

I would imagine he was on a bay at Tosco Donny chalked in with a vacant bay either side whilst being protected by the local swat team, he was only doing a day job as a favour whilst on leave from the SAS…

Wind ya neck in, it made me laugh when he said it so just thought I’d share it, I’m really sorry if this offends you and I’ll try and stay off your Internet so it never happens again :unamused:

Probably the writing it because reading the comments I don’t think anyone actually wondered if it was true

If I was told

“…instant sack for any violation”

I’d just take the sack…

Sounds more like company policy than industry. Or perhaps wishful thinking by some drivers
