It is called Fifth Wheel and open 24 hours, but at 20.30 they stop serving main meals and then do takeaway food .
There is good choice of starters and main meals.
Next door is a new M&S, open 07.00 to 22.00.
It has much improved to how it was before.
The large bar area for drivers is now shut, you can get drinks at the Fifth Wheel now.
Yeah I was there a fortnight ago and was reasonably impressed with it but didn’t eat as I had food already sorted, showers were reasonable also but a bloody long walk as I was parked right down the far end in the corner.
Stopped there about a month ago.
Never seen so much ■■■■■■■■■■■ in my life, do people still buy magazines, and do they need that much choice?!?!?!
I was in it a couple of weeks ago and I was impressed with it, the food was good and they have a good choice on the menu. I’ll definitly be going back.
i heard the parking is not the safest , any truth in that ?

You can be robbed in any services, none of them have secure parking even though they charge like they do! The problem is anyone can drive in to them and steal what ever they want and drive out but Id hazard a guess it’s safer than a layby or industrial est.

Come on this industry’s full of wonkers.
Also, those holes in the cubicle walls are not from gunshots.
I had the ultimute burger combo with a large
chicken breast, a huge Aberdeen Angus burger with onion rings.
Next time I will try the trio feast, chicken skewers with Tikka Massala, bbq wings and other bits.
I would say the prices are what you pay at a Toby carvery/ Brewers Fayre or a Harvester family aimed themed pub.
For drivers, it may be too expensive.
Fosters was £ 3.29.
Don’t know why u can’t get a meal voucher at Lynn I would use it more if you could
These places could easily afford a roaming security guard to keep wagons safe at night,
£15 overnight charge x 50 trucks average =£750
A security guard for 10hrs = £100 max
Still £650 profit per night,no excuse imo!
Trouble with Lymm is that’s it’s a big area and a lot of it is out of view, should have a security guard in a van floating around all night.
3 phase electric fence would suffice.

Because it’s £15, just be grateful that moto don’t charge the £23 they normally do
Only services we’re not allowed to night out on, had loads of trailers done over. I believe our insurers have refused to pay out for thefts from there.
Don’t park at the bottom end of the parking area, which is on the left of the truck wash, I had onions from Spain and some low life toe rag cut my curtains, bit of a clue with the smell what’s in the trailer.
Park near the hotel, where other drivers can see the trailer, drive in by the fence, so they can see the rear of the trailer to prevent tampering in the night.

Once you add food to the £15 it works out the same as the average MSA with meal voucher.
You only gain if you don’t buy food.
There was a security guard in last week, well a old bloke with ‘‘security’’ written on the back in the car parking area when I went for a maccy dee
I have been in a few times and there is always someone in the cabin marked “Site Security”
Not that they do a lot, but there is a security guard, probably as efficient as every other security guard we encounter

But not everyone buys food, I don’t want to diet on takeaways or overpriced 3663 tat every night. Plus a lot of firms limit what they pay for parking. If they offered a voucher, the prices would rise steeply
The food in this place really is rottern for such a lovely well run place.
I saw a bloke receive a burger meal. You could see the colour drain from his face with dissapointment and that was before he tasted it. I can vouch, it tastes of dry card and never had a burger bun crumble before. Wtf is it made out of because its certainly not bread.
It’s like waiting for bad ■■■ having a meal here. It makes hospital food feel like the ritz

Its a big area and with big areas come big business rate bills. Lymm Truckstops Business Rates bill is £425,000 Most of that will be because of the square footage of the parking area. Tarmacced land costs a shedload more than loose rubble.
Working on the £750 a night you say they get on average, that comes to £195,000 a year based on 5 nights a week for 52 weeks which doesn’t even come anywhere close to meeting the rates bill.
So no, its not £750 a night profit from parking at all.

No, £425,000 is the rateable value not the rates bill which will be approx. half that figure.
