New photo for driving licence

Hi All

I’m about to get my medical done so that I can send off my licence for provisional lorry entitlement to be added.
My question is that as my photo on my current licence expires early next year is it worth me updating it at this stage by sending a new photo in and paying the £17 fee, or can I wait until I’ve passed my Cat C test (hopefully before then)!?

I’m assuming here that I would need to send the licence off again once I pass my test so could update the photo at that stage?

In most cases the candidate lets the examiner deal with the licence on passing

No harm in changing photo now - you just loose the time from now until it was due as licences run from their issue date
