I passed my class 2 late November and have been lucky enough to pick up a permenant job with a big food supplier in the U.K. I dont have any experience yet but am buzzing to be giving the oportunity first day is next week any advice would be much appreciated
Take your time and don’t be afraid to bring stuff back if you look as so your going to go over your hours , it’s your licence not theirs
Congratulations!
Well done, and good luck with your new career. As mentioned don’t be afraid to bring stuff back if it looks like you won’t complete. You need to look out for yourself and keep yourself the right side of the law and don’t be afraid to ask “old hands” for advice. The experienced guys at my place are spot on for advice and drivers out and about will usually help as well just be careful which ones you listen to. The guys on here have many words of wisdom.

Along with me!
Best of luck OP!
Play the Newbie by asking ANYTHING you need clarifying.
Admit your Newbie naivety by asking for help and advice from those with experience…
But don’t believe everything you’re told!
Always have a driving anecdote on hand to placate any irate ramp operative when you can’t get it in square enough for them to unload.
My personal favourite is the time I drove round Chesterfield FC’s carpark while looking for tesco’s back gate. Or the time I drove into Gatesheads bus station.
Well done mate. I agree about playing the newbie card: be polite and explain you’re ‘new’ at drops etc. and you’ll find most people will be happy to point you in the right direction. You’ll find your feet soon enough and I know you want to impress etc. as a new starter but keep in mind, if you aren’t sure of something, check and check again and if you’re still not sure ask or phone the office… better to err than go in on a hope and a prayer.
