New pass class 1 Driver, Looking for job

I recently got my class 1 license and am desperate to move on from class 2 where am only getting £8 p/h from my agency working as an ltd.

Would you be able to advise me where in London I would find the best agencies for truck jobs? I am obviously looking for new pass class 1 jobs.

Looking online has been a disappointment as many either require experience or are located way out of London area. I would like to keep my base in London for the time being until I earn a bit more and have some savings to go to work for another place outside London/rent new home etc.

Try ADR

They used to put newly passed drivers in a few places and sometimes they’d put them with an experienced driver for a few days.

They’ve got the Yodel contract at Hatfield, which is a good place to " learn the ropes " if you will…

Good luck…

Least you’ve got the sense to move on from that, shocking ltd rates especially for London.

I am not ADR certified. Don’t I need a certain ADR qualification? I am very tight with funds and time (even behind with my rent, kid living at home etc.) and really need to find a better job asap. I had to borrow to get my class 1 and wish to put it to use asap. I can’t support my basic necessities as it stands hence my desperation.

I live in Enfield EN1 however the agency sends me all over UK.

Any idea if locateadriver.co.uk is any good?

I think Ramon meant ADR Network archetype who are a Driving recruitment agency not the certificate you are thinking of mate !

That’s a terrible rate for anywhere so which Agency is it as they ought to be named and shamed…

Have you tried any other local agencies or is that the only one?

There’s plenty of work if your prepared to be ‘flexible’.

Honestly !

Google CSR recruitment in Hoddesdon.
They will put you in Culina’s logistics which will probably turn into a permanent job.Or try Gist who have just moved to Brimsdown and are currently recruiting.

I thought £8 when self-employed is illegal?

There’s a minimum wage for contractors isn’t there?

Add the London tilt to it as well - and this rate looks grim indeed! :open_mouth:

Yeah mate I did mean ADR Network (Driving Agency)

They have quite a bit of work around Herts/North London…

NOT ADR LICENCE ! Though if you get one, more doors will open for you later on…

Sadly not, but the usual £2 - £1 LTD uplift taken off is well below the NMW (Depending on age).

OP, you are being insulted and taken for a ride by your agency that is paying such an embarrassingly low rate.

£8 is bad in Hampshire the going class 2 agency rate is £10 ave
I get £8.51 full time with a local haulier 48 paid + ot at £12.75

Have Culina got a depot in Hoddesdon then ?

Could well be looking for some part-time work in the next few weeks after having a spell away.

Are CSR ok to work for,as far as agencies go that is ?

Downtons will take on new drivers. Google C M Downton careers, there are tramper vacancies at Tilbury.
