New mobile phone directory

The new mobile phone directory starts next week, if you don’t want unsolicited calls when abroad then you have to opt out by going ex-directory. 1188000.co.uk, then click on “Ex directory” and follow the instructions. People I want to have my number already have it!

According to the rules, your mobile number cannot be given to anyone but anyone wishing to contact you can ask the service to send you a text with their number.

The opt out will save you from receiving texts from the service who are forwarding a request from a person etc who wants to contact you.

I don’t want to receive texts either when abroad - it costs to read them and unless you read them the phone will keep telling you that you have a text, so it’s ex-directory for me!!

I certainly don’t get charged for receiving text or picture messages whilst abroad (T-Mobile).

Oops sorry!! one too many zeros - it’s 118800.co.uk. Just gone ex-directory so it’s definitely working.

If you want any further information it can be found here - http://www.news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/programmes/working_lunch/8091621.stm

Yet again it’s not copied it right - http://www.news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/programmes/working_lunch/8091621.stm

Baffled as to why it won’t copy it correctly - after 1/hi/ it should be - programmes/ etc. so here goes for the last time.

Just seen on the news that the site has crashed due to so many people going ex-directory. See what “People Power” can do!
