New Mercs have been sitting in Killingholme Dock for weeks they are now being delivered to the Merc dealers for the showrooms. Most are silver but have seen the old one a charcoal colour.
Saw the article in ‘trucking’ B4 xmas, can’t wait to get a closer look at the CV show

It may look nice but I bet it is thje same rubbish as the other/ previous mercs I have unpleasure to drive. The worst trucks I ever driven
In what way?? Just interested
To start with the complete lack of comfort - seat is terrible its adjustment is basic the steering wheel adjustment very limited and when properly adjusted it covers at least 1/3 of the display not to mention that it is not comfortable to hold it either and a star reflects every two of the lamp post ( I work nights ) straight in to my eyes when i set it int the way that is comfortable. I leave work everyday with my back tired. The gearbox is slower than my 75 yrs old gradmother after two heart attacks it also choose wrong gears many times although I like its location. Engine break works with too big delay but that is due to gearbox slowing it down. Breaks - you can get used to them but when you drove a ‘proper truck’ before you have a feeling that you have to stand on them to make them work. Bed - for me not comfy matteress - point of discuss as everyone likes different. Dash shelf is in a shape that you can put lots but small items on it but A4 paper work is to big and its going out of it ( triangle shape ) cup holder to flat to hold a cup and not make it collapse while slowing down. Dash not laid to reach controls comfortably. In the one I drive is triaxle and mid lift drops down with one pallet on board - dengerous in winter as hell. Firm to drive, and noisy. 440 bhp and up on the hill slows 25 % more than volvo with the same power. As I said It looks ok for me, and the location of gearbox is ok. Good audio although location is bad.
Is that enough

Yeah that’l do
Ive just come back into driving a truck regularly from a break of about 20 years apart from a brief spell in the late 90’s so all i have to go on is the old stuff like ERF, Foden, Leyland Road Trains and freighters etc, oh and DAF 2800’s LOL
The truck i drive now is a manual Axor, 07 plate. Its OK but its noisey in the cab from my limited experiance of new stuff. Seems to get alot of that drumming from wind noise and that bloody turbo wine gets on ya ■■■■ but i spose there all like that. On the whole it seems not to bad but as i say, ive not driven anything else ‘new’ to compare it with.
