Hi all.
I just joined the forum, …
Hi jackomo,
jackomo:
Could anyone give me any advice which training centre in Warrington area should I choose?
At the moment I am trying to choose between paulslgvtraining in Hindley Green, and Truk from Bolton.
I am looking for someone who used them before, for any good or bad experiences with them, or maybe you could suggest another place.
Here’s a link to our list of training schools which have been recommended by our members:
LGV TRAINING TIPS [Reworked 01/02/2022] (Read only) - #5 by rog - NEW AND WANNABE DRIVERS (INTERACTIVE) - Trucknet UK
Just because a company doesn’t appear on that list doesn’t necessarily mean they’re no good, it’s just that it may be that none of our members have bothered to make a recommendation.
You could try Mantra Learning, they’re on the Palatine Ind Est just behind the Causeway Pub, so it’s possible that they’re handy for travelling distance for you.

Do I really need another medical if I am a professional driver now?
I am a bus driver right now, but want to switch to LGV/HGV.
I’m not sure of the answer to that question mate, but IF you need another medical, we’ve got a list for that too, just here: Cheap Medicals - Nationwide (Updated 29/06/17) - USEFUL LINKS (POST AND READ ONLY) - Trucknet UK

Finally should I stick for class 2 for some time to get some experience, or go straight to class 1?
That’s a question that’s often asked, and there are two schools of thought on it.
One suggests a softly softly approach gaining experience as you go, whilst the other suggests getting all the training out of the way in one fell swoop. This one precludes both the need to stop working in order to take more training at a later date AND finding out that the price of the C+E course has gone up in the meantime.
I guess it’s up to an individual’s particular circumstances and financial situation though.
Who-hoo, I’ve beaten Jennie and bonnie lass to a welcome again, so now I’m on a hat-trick.
