New look licence

The DVLA have a new look layout for the card part of the licence. Not sure if you have one as they were only put out this month as far as I’m aware. Anyway my question is this, does anyone know what the traffic lights on the back signify? I have an amber traffic light on the back of mine.

I believe it may be a security feature with no actual significance. Can’t find any information about it from DVLA but the Northern Irish licences imply this is the case. But I’m happy to be enlightened if anyone can.

thanks for the replies. I thought it might be that the licence is still restricted with only being class 2. I never seen any explanation for it on that link.

thanks a lot vast knowledge rog, it maybe just a replacement for the hologram steering wheel then, but as amber signifies the same as red i thought not good thats all
