Hi I’ve held my car license for 8 years I have 3 points and am allowed 12. I passed my bike test today could someone explain to me if I have to do 2 years with no more than 6 points again? I’m confused I’ve searched everywhere and found nothing. I wouldn’t of bothered doing bike license if it resets me to only be allowed 6 points for 2 years… cheers for any help.
How old are the original points?
No.
The Road Traffic (New Drivers) Act 1995 states that the 2 years probationary period begins on the passing of your first test.

Which does beg the question why didn’t you ask about it first?
