Passed my Class 2 back in May with Tockwith (brilliant company btw, would highly recommend) and since then I’ve been working at Asda on the home delivery vans, just getting as much experience of multi drop delivery as i could get, previous to doing my Class 2 I’d just been working nights in the shop, so wanted something relevant to what will hopefully be my future career on my CV. Meanwhile I’ve been applying for any Class 2 job I’ve seen and I’ve just landed my first interview, which is a bit of a milestone in itself with pretty much everywhere wanting Class 2 experience (including the one I’ve got an interview for).
Just wondered if anyone had any interview tips (good questions to ask, tricky questions you were asked etc) especially those that can remember their first one. Im currently going through the list of all the things they list in their key responsibilities in the job and making sure i have a good understanding of what they mean and examples of how i perform them in my current job as well as brushing up on my European Working Hours Rules and Regulations and finding out as much about the company as i can.
Obviously every interview is different and theres no set template of how they all go, but any information could be useful, just want to go in as prepared as possible.
I too definately agree with going onto their website and finding what they are about. I think you would be surprised at what an impact this makes me people and it will certainly make you stand out from the crowd. Also, try to relax when you go in and try to be yourself. Good luck mate
ROG:
Be open and honest with loads of enthusiasm and ensure they know you have a willing to learn
Google the company and see what they do so that it looks like you have done some research on them
Cheers Rog, aye the top line was something i really want to show, especially my willing to learn.
The company are fairly well known, so luckily, its pretty easy to find out about them and I’ve been researching their history, who their customers are and who they compete against.

Certainly going to be putting all i can into it, from the outside at least, they seem like the type of company that would be perfect for me and one i could really grow with. Obviously this could just turn out to be naivety on my part but theres only one way to find out!
If you put who you have your interview with up on here might be drivers that have worked for them or still are give you a heads up first hand.
As said be eager to learn and flexible on start times or shift patterns in the interview good luck
