Having been paid off late November due to closure of Muller Wiseman’s depot in Keith who gave me my Class one as part of my redundancy due to having over 20 years service with them. I spent the time doing work on my house it was so much easier doing it while not working. I also did an ADR course the first week of January no card yet but I passed it all so I decided it was time to look for work.
McPhersons had an open day at their training centre in Elgin last Sunday so I booked an assessment with them which I passed I then spoke to one of their planners who checked my licence DCPC etc and said don’t think there will be any problems in giving you a job not an interview a such
Monday afternoon I get a call saying start Monday 3rd don’t know what hours I will be doing but I did ask for dayshift with occasional weekends as my missus works alternate weekends so I am willing to work those if needed
so after driving rigids for 33 years this is my first go in a bendy one
always said works out there if you look , well done fella hope it works out

Yes really nice area and we have missed all the crap weather the rest of the country has been suffering but and its a big but you cant afford the delivery charges off eBay

Looks like I might have to stick it out for a while they lost 4 drivers this week all new starts!!!

Not sure about them all but one went from yard first thing with “champion driver” to collect a trailer from the yard at the Bluehill Quarry only to jump from the cab and start walking back to yard muttering “if the is the kind of ■■■■ I have to do then its not for me”
After a week on the job its not that bad quite a good bunch of blokes plenty of extra work if you want it. The biggest problem is every distillery is different in the way its laid out and the systems they work so it will take quite a bit of time to pick it all up but once you are settled doing a job they appear to let you get on with it
Got my ADR card now so I will have to wait and see what they have in store for me
