Well done…
What was the interview and such like?
If u dont mind me asking.
Dan
interview was ok (havn’t done many over the years),and they definatly passed it lol,but seriousley i liked what they said about how the companies is run and how people are treated, lots(and i mean lots) of forms to fill in, aquick run round in a loaded wagon ,walk round check etc, slow and steady is the way to go,
overall they were very well organised(lots to interview) seemed straight up and told me what to expect, was happy to shake his hand at the end and say yes please
I’ve never worked for them but from what I’ve read on here over the years…
Don’t damage the truck or you’re out.
The Head Honcho, John Williams, son of Tommy Williams of TDW Distribution, is said to be a decent bloke but everybody in the tier below him is a complete and total ■■■■■.
Good luck and congratulations on the new job.
cheers harry
A few little things.
Job’s ok, kit is decent, money’s good for box jockey work.
If there’s a fault, get it reported, get it fixed. Damage, get it reported, get it documented.
Tacho in at start time and out at finish time, no later or sooner, to the minute it must tally with your tacho or you’ll be gone for defrauding the company.
Are you a ‘yes man’? You should / will be, or you’ll not be there long, the planners don’t like to hear ‘no’. Friday night ‘You’re in work Sunday…’ “no I’m not, I’ve got plans” ‘we’ve noticed this on your forms… fired!’
Keep your nose clean, attend as agreed, do as told, make sure paperwork is 100% and you’ll be fine and be looked after.
If you’re ever invited in for a chat and ‘would you like someone with you?’ is asked. YES is the answer, because you’re in there for a bollocking not a new wagon
Previous experience? Current experience?
So may there be a job available at universal?? lol
i left universal 7 months ago and i wouldnt recomend the job to anyone
none of the drivers are happy any more
I`ve heard its a good company, but only those that worked, or works there can say. I heard of drivers being asked what vehicle they prefer to drive, what extras they want, etc, etc, dont know if thats true for newbies or not, it could be for the long termers, someone will enlighten me no doubt.
don’t know trucky ,but i liked what i saw and heard, so we’ll give it a bash ,they said they were looking for long timers, told me i,d be working sunday to thurs if i go on nights, im happy enough , it suits me and its clean work ,thatll make a nice change
Well done mate Its always nice to hear someone getting on with a company that they want to work for

Sorry for delay, previous experience mate, I fell foul of the advice I’ve given you. A couple of years ago now
Good luck mate, i hope it all goes well for you.
