And in answer to an earlier post, Ferguson’s Transport Spean Bridge (a Road Haulage company) have a landing craft called the Harvest Anne for supplying salmon farms with feed up and down the north west coast of Scotland. They used to (or maybe still do) have a small coaster called the Harvest Caroline as well. I remember they employed eastern european deck officers initially and in her first or second week after Ferguson’s bought her she was run aground on rocks in Loch Sunart.

Thanks for posting that, at the risk of encurring the ‘boring boring yawn’ bit again from Toby, the Caroline was sold to a Norwegian interest who near enough have the monopoly on the fish farm job and went away elsewhere, I had two years running to the same sort of hidyholes on a log ship,Red Duchess, plenty of ship handling there.
Years ago I had a retired Extra Foreign Going Master who used to be captain of one of Lamport & Holts ships running up the river Plate sail with me on a little coaster and his elder brother (Cyril) used to relieve him and he was a retired examiner for the BoT in Liverpool. Neither of them ever criticised me or my ticket. In fact Cyril actually complimented me on the way the job was done. Quite proud of that I was and still am. That was from a man with more tickets than a Robbie Williams concert

The mate who joined the Caroline after this incident then sailed on her until the sale then he joined the Red Duchess and he is still on her, ex deep sea as well in the past, good bloke!!
Look forward to his return then but where is the other dissenter, Mucksavaga ? has he gone with him to hold his hand…

Raymundo i was blue star cunard psnc and others and after matco i took a position with rowbothams (p+ o) yes a coaster and i have to admit it was the hardest job i had on the ships including farstad and maersk on north sea.

Ah now having had a brief look through Mucksavgas posts it would appear he was once a fan of my videos! You’ve got to stop taking things so personally, I only called you an idiot, hardly the worst thing ever. And you must admit if you read back through your posts on this topic you come across very very badly. Attack attack attack is not a good tatic on a forum, it doesn’t come across well. You could put your point across in a mild and slightly humourous manner and there’s a good chance more people will listen to you and understand your point.
