New job.

I have chased a few leads since passing C+E last Wednesday and today I took a job as a night-trunking double-decker. Either very lucky or very stupid, time will tell.
To everyone looking for a job, good luck!

Hi pal, nice one!
Where they sending you for the trunk? TPN, XPO, etc…

Perry Vale and the Brum Chub. Palletline. Apparently it’s a cushy number.
When you’ve dealt with the nightmares

I’ve not done much night trunking, but it is easy once you now how the site in question works. I’ve only done the TPN and Haz-Chem networks…

The hardest part is normally fighting to tie back and secure the curtains ready for your 2 trips through the warehouse.
Once to offload followed by a kip  and once to reload…

Sweet dreams pal!

My favourite part of the job is the sleeps! Apparently I’ll run shotgun with another driver for a couple of nights. Instead of having the keys flung at you… So I’m already happy!

Palletline ! Arggggh
Hate that place, never done the night trunk, but been in a few times during the day. They don’t like me much, got told off for taking pictures of a dodgy load once [emoji57]
Loaded one xmas eve in the tipping hall, I was the last Lorry & they were in a hurry, I upset them when I told them to unload half the pallets co’s they trapped my straps (their rules, not mine [emoji6])
Apparently, at night, all the H & S rules are chucked away & they drive around with curtains open, drive the wrong way & just generally ■■■■ about.

Good Luck, take your time & make sure you’re wearing all your PPE including Hard Hat.
Oh & take lessons in Yam Yam, because they’re all Brunmies (a lot of em miserable [emoji22])

Cheers Martin, sounds like they won’t notice another idiot noob…
