I hope that the O.P. lets us know how he is getting on in a couple of weeks.Brakes and 3663 take on newbies but it is hard physical work.
As the OP said he is not scared of hard work, he has his foot in the door experience wise.
If he sticks it out it and its as hard work as its made out here then that can only be good for his future options
Good luck buddy, (cue cheesy quote ) your on the road and the journey has started

Brakes is great on the C+E trunks. I only did the multidrop rigids as a favour a couple of times, and I hate it with a passion.
I go to work to earn a crust - not to get arms like Popeye.
Ferries, Prison, Schools, - but mostly harvesters & pubs in rabbit-warren housing estates.
It’s all about the money none of us go to work just for fun. So call it what you want as long as the wage slip fits who cares lol

I got a job once without brakes and literally never stopped.
Ba Dum Tish
Only thing I’ve heard about brakes is its bloody hard work handballing, I do something similar now but what I’ve heard about them, it’d kill me in a week lol
First day today at Brakes I’m going out on a driver day so I can see what it is all about and if all good I start training Monday
